《英語寫作教程》根據(jù)教育部頒布的《大學(xué)英語教學(xué)大綱》和教育部高等學(xué)校外語專業(yè)教學(xué)指導(dǎo)委員會(huì)英語組制定的《高等學(xué)校英語專業(yè)英語教學(xué)大綱》編寫，可以適用于高等學(xué)校英語專業(yè)二、三年級(jí)的學(xué)生和廣播電視大學(xué)、師范院校本?？朴⒄Z專業(yè)學(xué)生的教學(xué)，也適用于具有同等學(xué)歷的英語自學(xué)愛好者學(xué)習(xí)之用。1.“寫”和“讀”融于一體，“寫”在“讀”中“立”，“讀”在“寫”中“導(dǎo)”，同時(shí)。“寫”在“讀”中提高，“讀”又增強(qiáng)“寫”的技能，從而達(dá)到提高學(xué)生的英語綜合表達(dá)能力。2.與學(xué)生的實(shí)際情況相結(jié)合，從培養(yǎng)英語專業(yè)學(xué)生的角度出發(fā)。圍繞著專業(yè)知識(shí)中心，教給學(xué)生寫作技能，以“寫”促“學(xué)”，具有相當(dāng)?shù)膶?shí)用性，針對(duì)性。3.本教材分設(shè)有理論教學(xué)（Guided Teaching）、教學(xué)點(diǎn)睛（Professor’S Comments），實(shí)訓(xùn)練習(xí)（Related Exercises），苦練攀高（Industrious Training）等四部分，具有較強(qiáng)的開放性、綜合性、實(shí)踐性和教學(xué)的可用性。4.教材用詞行文簡(jiǎn)明精煉，易學(xué)易懂，例句例文盡可能多而不繁。5.教材中編設(shè)了大量的同步練習(xí)。供學(xué)生進(jìn)行Project—Based Group Study。旨在教學(xué)過程中加深學(xué)生對(duì)知識(shí)的理解和接受。6.由于寫作課的特殊性，第八單元的學(xué)習(xí)重點(diǎn)放在課堂上，主要分Guided Teaching。Writing Focus，Analysis and Discussion（For PBGS），Related Exercises等，學(xué)生在老師的指導(dǎo)下，對(duì)幾種常用的體裁進(jìn)行點(diǎn)評(píng)式的講解。要求學(xué)生在課堂上基本接受，完全采用師生互動(dòng)教與學(xué)（基于項(xiàng)目的團(tuán)隊(duì)自主學(xué)習(xí)Project-based Group Study）。7.第九單元主要是范文賞讀，要求學(xué)生閱讀所給的文章。根據(jù)中文提示，自己進(jìn)行分析，模仿第八單元自己完成。
