路易斯·P·波伊曼（Louis P.Pojman）博士現為美國軍事科學院哲學教授。19世紀60年代，他是民權運動的激進分子和牧師，在布魯克林的貝德福德一斯圖威桑特（Bedford-Stuyvesant Brooklyn）的多種族教會服務。他在聯合神學院（哥倫比亞大學）獲得宗教與倫理專業(yè)的哲學博士學位，并在牛津大學獲得哲學專業(yè)的哲學博士學位。他曾是哥本哈根大學富布賴特訪問學者和漢堡大學的洛克菲勒訪問學者?！÷芬姿埂·波伊曼是22本書的作者或編者，其中包括：《倫理學：發(fā)現正當與不正當》（Ethics：DiscoveringRight and Wrong）、《生與死：與我們時代的道德兩難而斗爭》（Lire and Death：Grappling with the Moral Di-lemmas of Our Time）、《宗教信仰與意志》（ReligiousBelief and the Will）、《全球環(huán)境倫理》（Global Environmental Ethics[Mayfield]），以及《哲學：尋求智慧》（Philosophy：The Pursuit of Wisdom）等，以及本書《知識論導論》的姊妹篇——本大型知識論讀物：《知識理論：古典與當代讀物》（Theory of Knowledge：Glassic and Contemporary Readings）。
