本系列教材是在廣泛征求學(xué)生對英語教材和英語技能的需求，基于對現(xiàn)有研究生英語教材的分析和討論，充分考慮眾多從事研究生英語教學(xué)一線教師的建議，根據(jù)研究生英語教學(xué)的現(xiàn)狀和實際需要，編寫成書。該系列教材從體例上不再將讀寫譯分開編寫，而是將三者融為一體；考慮到聽說技能的特殊重要性，我們特別從國外引進一套優(yōu)秀的《高級英語聽說教程/Listening and Critical Thinking Skills》（1，2，3），另外請國內(nèi)作者編寫一本綜合的《溝通英語—高級實用英語聽說技能》，從而形成一個有機的系列。在編寫過程中，對于課文題材與內(nèi)容的篩選，對于讀、寫、譯技巧的選擇，對于練習(xí)內(nèi)容的考慮都是本著使學(xué)生在研究生階段能夠在英語知識的獲取與實際應(yīng)用兩方面相輔相成，有機互補。尤其是在運用外語知識進行國際交流與獲取專業(yè)學(xué)習(xí)所需最新信息的能力上使學(xué)生能夠有一定程度的提高，使其更好地適應(yīng)于社會，服務(wù)于社會，滿足社會的需求。本系列教材包括《高級實用英語聽說》（1、2、3）（引進版）、《高級實用英語聽說－教學(xué)參考書》（第1、2、3冊合訂本）（引進版）、《溝通英語－高級實用英語聽說技能》、《溝通英語－高級實用英語聽說技能教學(xué)參考書》、《高級英語讀寫譯教程》、《高級英語讀寫譯教程教學(xué)參考書》8本。所有聽說教程均配有MP3光盤。
