  《語言課程設(shè)計:教師指南》較全面地闡述了課程設(shè)計各個方面的內(nèi)容,其中包括“評估需求”、“設(shè)立目標(biāo)”、“開發(fā)教材”和通常較難定論的“表達理念”(即教師對于語言教學(xué)的信念)等章節(jié)。盡管《語言課程設(shè)計:教師指南》各章大多是按傳統(tǒng)課程程序來排列的,但作者Kathleen Graves(美)還是在第一章內(nèi)指出《語言課程設(shè)計:教師指南》是按系統(tǒng)來安排活動的。作者認(rèn)為一個課程的各個部分都是相互關(guān)聯(lián)、不可分割的整體,把這個整體稱之為課程設(shè)計的“構(gòu)架”。然而,“作為課程設(shè)計者,你可以從這構(gòu)架中的任何地方開始你的課程,只要你認(rèn)為從這里開始對你的課程是合理的即可”。因此,作者認(rèn)為傳統(tǒng)的課程設(shè)計被看成是一個十分有序的、線性的程序,而不像她自己在設(shè)計課程的過程中所經(jīng)歷的和大多數(shù)教師在現(xiàn)實工作中所經(jīng)歷到的那樣“雜亂無章”。所以這《語言課程設(shè)計:教師指南(2009)》不一定按章節(jié)前后順序來學(xué)習(xí)。作者在這《語言課程設(shè)計:教師指南(2009)》中表達了自己對課程設(shè)計的想法,有些地方敘述較為詳細,并引用了其他教師的評論和材料,意在啟發(fā)教師評定這些觀點,進而引發(fā)教師自己的意見。
