　　對不少英語專業(yè)的學(xué)生來說，撰寫英語畢業(yè)論文是個難關(guān)。常?？梢钥吹綄W(xué)生們枯坐案頭，面對一個早已定一的題目，冥思苦想，久久無從落筆，其痛苦之狀著實令人同情。他們通常所遇到的一個困難是不知道如何論述自己的觀點（to develop their ideas）?！∵@些思想活躍、目光敏銳的年輕人，不乏獨到的想法。這些想法如通過分析、比較、聯(lián)想、鑒別等手段加以擴展，完全可以敷演成一篇很好的文章。但可惜我們的學(xué)生，往往三言兩語，戛然而止。倒不是他們不想把問題說透，而是缺乏這種論證的能力。總覺得話已說盡，難以再加發(fā)揮了。一篇五千六字的英語論文，要寫到規(guī)定的長度似乎比登天還難。常常懷著焦急擬情，邊寫邊數(shù)，卻發(fā)現(xiàn)總未達到要求；有時為了湊足字數(shù)不得不成段引用原文，將文章“放胖”（pad out），有的甚至大段抄襲國外學(xué)者的著作，甘冒剽竊（plagiarism）之大韙。因此在畢業(yè)論文中，雖然也有觀點獨到、文思暢達、論述精當(dāng)?shù)纳铣酥?，但總的來說，并不太令人滿意。論文寫作中還存在著語言表達的困難。學(xué)生們無法分辯評論文與一般記敘文的文體差別，而一概以敘述語言甚至口語化的句子來寫文學(xué)評論，句子結(jié)構(gòu)單調(diào)呆板，缺少變化，從頭到尾幾乎都是主謂賓結(jié)構(gòu)句式，不懂得如何使用各類修飾語使文句搖曳多瓷姿，富有感染力。某些學(xué)生通篇幼稚刻板的語句往往與一二句（或一二段）從別處抄來而未注明出處的句子（或段落），形成鮮明的對照，使教師可以輕而易舉地看出其中的破綻來。

作者簡介

　　黃源深，華東師范大學(xué)教授，中國澳大利亞研究會副會長，中國英語教學(xué)研究會常務(wù)理事，全國高校外國文學(xué)教學(xué)研究會理事，國家教委高等學(xué)校外語專業(yè)教學(xué)指導(dǎo)委員會委員兼英語組副組長，中國譯協(xié)文學(xué)藝術(shù)委員會委員，上海翻譯家協(xié)會常務(wù)理事。1981年獲澳大利亞悉尼大學(xué)文學(xué)碩士學(xué)位，曾先后在悉尼大學(xué)、拉特羅布大學(xué)和美國賓州大學(xué)任客卒教授。主要論著和編著有：《澳大利亞文學(xué)史》、《澳大利亞文學(xué)論》、《澳大利亞文化簡論》、《當(dāng)代澳大利亞社會》、《澳大利亞文學(xué)作品選讀》、《高等學(xué)校英語教材》（1－8冊），并發(fā)表有論文40多篇。主要譯著有：《簡·愛》、《我的光輝生涯》、《驚醒》等。
